Bio:

Patti Barnett serves as Head of Medicare Regulatory Strategy & Operations for Centene Corporation where she is driving state and federal regulatory strategy to support our Dual-eligible and Medicare Advantage business. She first joined Centene in June 2018 and served as the Head of Public Policy for six years and established an enterprise-wide public policy department.

Ms. Barnett has over 15 years of experience in health policy with the federal government. She spent 10 years at the Office of Management and Budget within the Executive Office of the President (EOP) as Chief of the Medicaid branch as well as Chief of the Health Insurance and Data Analysis branch. In these roles, she led a professional staff to implement major legislation reauthorizing the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Deficit Reduction Act, Affordable Care Act, and negotiated several State Medicaid demonstration (1115) requests. Ms. Barnett served as a Senior Advisor at the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC), helping to establish the Commission. She also had roles at the Veteran Health Administration and Department of Health and Human Services. Ms. Barnett has her Bachelor of Arts in Government from Georgetown University and Master of Science in Public Policy and Public Administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
