Reimagining Cancer Care from Early Detection Through Survivorship

Cancer is one of the most consequential clinical and cost challenges facing health plans and their customers. Yet many traditional cancer strategies only concentrate resources on nurse navigation or after a cancer diagnosis, missing opportunities to identify risk earlier, close screening and diagnostic gaps, and support members before their care becomes more complex and costly.

In this session, Dr. Dolores Roman, Medical Director from Independence Blue Cross (IBX) and Dany Matar, Chief Operating Officer from Color, the first ASCO-certified virtual cancer organization, will discuss how organizations can rethink cancer care as an oncologist-led strategy spanning prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. They will explore how IBX has evolved its approach to complement existing cancer management capabilities with earlier, more proactive interventions, while preserving access to high-quality care throughout the member journey.
